Jeffrey Spike, M.A., L.E.P. & Carissa Duran-Spike, M.A.

With more than twenty-five years of combined extensive and wide-ranging experience in the fields of school  psychology, counseling and behavior/ academic intervention, Jeffrey  Spike (AKA "Spike the Psych") and Carissa Duran-Spike provide the  highest quality of numerous services for students (elementary school through post graduate) of all ages and their families. They have worked as  school psychologists, school counselors, and behavioral intervention  case managers in several areas of the San Fernando Valley for several  years, serving special education and general education students of all  ages.

The Spikes have  conducted psycho-educational assessments and have directly provided  supports and interventions for several hundreds of general education and  special education students to help them improve their skills and  progress in the following areas: social skills; positive work habits and  routines; study skills and organization; appropriate classroom  behavior; stress/anxiety management; anger management and conflict  resolution; motivation and attitude; self-esteem and self-confidence;  impulse control; coping skills; and appropriate decision making.

Jeffrey Spike  became a licensed educational psychologist while continuing to work at  LAUSD schools. He was the recipient of the Los Angeles Association of  School Psychologists (LAASP) Outstanding Psychologist of the year  Award. As experienced assessors and evaluators, the Spikes have  successfully identified the primary strengths and needs of students with  Autism, ADD/HD, learning disabilities, emotional disturbance,  intellectual disabilities, speech or language impairments, and other  health impairments. They have both developed a reputation for being able  to connect with students of all ages and, therefore, producing positive  results through educational counseling and intervention.
